H I profiles obtained with a 36 arc min beam are presented for eight galaxies. For NGC 4490/85, NGC 5457 and IC 10 observations obtained on a nine-point square grid are used to construct spatially integrated profiles free from beam attenuation effects. It is shown that such a reconstruction can be accomplished using spectra sampled at grid points as far apart as one full beamwidth.
