In this study the limb observations of 630.0 nm airglow by Imager of Sprites and Upper Atmospheric Lightnings (ISUAL), onboard FOMOSAT-2 satellite are analyzed to study the latitudinal distribution of the emission. Preliminary studies have revealed regions of enhanced intensity in the latitudinal scans. The enhancements appear as single peak or double peak structures. The peaks mostly appear near the equatorial region, while in some cases they are seen at mid-latitudes as well. The 630.0 nm intensity is modulated by electron density variations as well as by the changes in F-layer altitude. This work analyzes the airglow enhancements in the ISUAL images and discusses the possible factors that result in the observed variations at different longitudes based on observation and simulation.
