The NRL ionosphere model SAMI2 is used to model ionospheric conjugate effects associated with radiowave heating from the upcoming Arecibo heater. A localized source term is added to the electron temperature equation in SAMI2 to heat the electrons at the appropriate altitude for a given heater frequency. We present results as a function of local time and F10.7. Preliminary findings suggest that the electron temperature in the conjugate topside ionosphere (above 300 km) could increase by 30% and the electron density by 10%. Research supported by ONR.
