For 2 contrasting systems we plan to investigate the influence the Hot Jupiters have upon their host stars using phase (planetary orbital and stellar rotational) resolved spectroscopy. By combining our X-ray and UV data with contemporaneous optical spectropolarimetric observations we will be able to test and enhance current models for the magnetic interaction between stars and their giant close-in planets.
