On the basis of Zuber et al.'s spherical harmonic expressions of lunar
topography and gravity data, a reevaluation is conducted of the lunar
mascons and their implications about the internal structure of the moon.
Attention is given to two aspects of the elastic support mechanism; the
thickness of mare fillings of the mascon basins is also calculated.
