The OMEGA imaging spectrometer on board the ESA/Mars Express mission has acquired hyperspectral images of both Phobos and Deimos during seven years of operations. The two moons exhibit distinct visible and NIR spectra. We shall present an overview of the results acquired, and discuss them in comparison to i) the pioneer observations by ISM and KRFM on board the Phobos 2 mission, and ii) the recent CRISM/MRO ones. The emphasis will be put on the search for spectral signatures of mafic minerals, hydrated mineral and carbonaceous phases, diagnostic of Phobos and Deimos origin
