The effect of the accuracy of the mutual tuning of the elements of a fiber-optic interferometer, i.e., the laser, the polarizer, and the eigenaxes of the single-mode fiber birefringence, is examined. It is shown that the zero drift in the interferometer consists of two parts, constant and variable, associated with temperature variation. Both parts depend on the state of the polarization, the radiation at the polarizer input, the polarizer extinction coefficient, and the orientation of the eigenaxes of the fiber-optic waveguide with respect to the polarizer.
