Spontaneous And Radiative Symmetry Breaking, Theory Of Quantized Fields, Particle-Theory And Field-Theory Models Of The Early Universe

We study the symmetry behavior of a model in a one-parameter de Sitter-invariant vacuum. We show that, if we choose an appropriate de Sitter-invariant vacuum, the second-order phase transition from a symmetric phase to a broken phase is seen at the critical intensity of the coupling of the massive scalar field to the curvature. Moreover we consider the influence of temperature on the model. It is found that the system is in a symmetric state under high temperature at a very early time, no matter what de Sitter-invariant vacuum we choose. However, if a system that is in a particular de Sitter-invariant vacuum state is cooled over a long time, the system becomes unstable to show the second-order phase transition.
