The observed absorption and emission features that emerge from the extended envelope surrounding Be stars are consistent with a two-component wind model. The far-UV lines of superionized elements indicate the presence of a hot and fast wind while the IR excess and the H emission lines are associated with a cool and slow flow. In the optical region, some stars with circumstellar envelopes show two Balmer discontinuities being the second one in absorption or in emission. The aim of this work is to investigate the contribution of a two-component wind upon the appearance of the second Balmer jump and the IR excess in terms of density conditions.
