It is crucial to detect as many nonradial pulsation (NRP) modes as possible for asteroseismology. The precise radial velocity measurement with an iodine cell, which gives us a fiducial wavelength reference to the precision of at least several m s^{-1} under various observing configurations, may be a handy way to detect small amplitude oscillations even in early-type stars. With the completion of the iodine cell at Okayama, we collected about 200 spectra of the β Cep star, EN Lac, over two months in 2001,
and determined its radial velocities from about 30 absorption lines between 5000 and 6000 Å. From their period analysis, we clearly detected the three well-known periods in the star. In this paper, we report our preliminary result along with discussion of the applicability of the iodine cell technique to such stars. Full description of our results will be presented in a separate paper.
