Current research in the stuctural geology of the earth's interior is reviewed with emphasis on global models of the mantle, regional models of the lithosphere, the mapping of boundaries in the deep mantle, and the mapping of elastic anisotropy. Particular consideration is given to several planned seismic experiments, including Iris, Pascal, Geoscope, and Orpheus.
