The authors present a new method for the light curve solution of eclipsing binaries, which includes the Wilson and Devinney (1971) Roche-model based approach but uses a minimization procedure specifically designed to find global minima. After testing its efficiency by means of computer generated light curves, the authors applied it to CW Cas, a contact system whose solution by other methods turns out to be not unique.
