The Cassini mission to Saturn is discussed, focusing on the Titan entry probe to make in situ measurements of the Titan climatic structure, chemical processes, and surface features. The physical parameters and atmosphere of Titan are examined and the proposed probe descent to the Titan surface is illustrated. Plans for the mission, the probe mission and autonomy requirements, the construction of the probe, the probe/orbiter interfaces, and ground control systems for the mission are also considered.
