Pulsar Magnetospheres: Electromagnetic Waves

Scientific paper

Nonlinear propagation of electromagnetic waves across the ambient magnetic field immersed in an ultrarelativistically hot electron-positron plasma is considered. A system of nonlinear equations is obtained. Coupled Langmuir and electromagnetic solitons are found to propagate across the magnetic field and its relevance to pulsar magnetosphere is outlined.
