Intensities of extreme ultraviolet lines emitted from solar active regions are presented and analyzed to derive pressures, velocities and differential emission measures as a function of temperature and position. From the NRL Skylab XUV spectro-heliograph, data are obtained that allow the derivation of density sensitive line ratios for states of various elements, which in turn yield electron pressures. The differential emission measure of the brightest part of the active region is derived, as well as Doppler velocities as a function of position along the slit in an active region plage and sunspot. Downflows at 10 km/s exist in the plage while in the sunspot they are 5-20 km/s over the umbra and zero over the penumbra. From the data it is shown that convection plays a major role in determining the structure and dynamics of the active region transition zone and corona.
