We report on the search for positional and tempo- ral correlations between gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) in the CGRO BATSE catalog and the supernovae (SNe) detected during the BATSE era (1991-2000). By making use of innovative procedures we have car- ried out a statistical analysis of the results. We have checked if the possibly correlated objects differ in physical properties from the rest of the GRB/SN sample. Although at least two GRB-SN coincidences are known, our preliminary results do not indicate significant correlations between GRBs and super- novae which are presently detected by SN searches, but provide new insights into correlations based on physical properties of GRB and SN samples. Key words: correlation; supernovae; gamma-ray bursts, BATSE.
