A spacetime may have more symmetries than the geometrical symmetries of the metric. These new symmetries lead to the non-geometrical or dynamical constants of the motion. For an arbitrary spacetime, a systematic method of exploring the symmetry group of the Liouville equation in a given spacetime is introduced. The method is applied to the case of maximally symmetric spacetime. The symmetry group is found to be 0264-9381/14/5/022/img1. The non-geometrical constants of the motion are also given.
