Early Universe: Baryogenesis, Early Universe: Phase Transitions
Scientific paper
The author presents an introduction to the electroweak phase transition. Starting from the dimensional reduction of an equilibrium finite temperature quantum field theory the electroweak phase transition is described by the reduction of the four-dimensional Lagrangian to three dimensions and in perturbation theory. Then non-perturbative effects at the electroweak phase transition are considered. Finally the applications to electroweak baryogenesis are briefly discussed.
