Scientific paper

An analytical expression for the two-frequency correlation function of
the atmospheric scintillations of the irradiance in the focal plane of
an optical telescope is obtained. Limitations on the irradiance
waveband, for which the application of the speckle interferometry method
is possible, are pointed out.
