A universal method of solving Lambert's problem is proposed. This method comes down to the solution of one equation for a universal variable, which has a simple form, invariant for all types of orbits and any number of full revolutions. The equation is derived both in Stumpff functions and in Battin functions. This equation is analyzed and a method of solving it is given, as well as equations for calculating the parameters of the Keplerian orbit being sought. Certain properties of solutions of Lambert's problem are investigated.
