This proposal defines a series of observations that will provide data to calibrate the shape of the blaze (ripple) function for the GHRS Echelle A mode. It uses the UV standard star Mu Columbae, with an initial acquisition by mirror A1. The star is left centered in the LSA for the entire test. Nine carrousel positions are specified, centered on the peak of the blaze function, and extending far enough to both the short and long wavelength sides to include the entire free spectral range. OSCAN mode observations are used to record all orders between 33 and 49.
