Measurements of the image drift due to the geomagnetic field will be made on the blue FOS detector. Maps of the aperture image, with TALED illumination at approximately 3 minute intervals will be used to determine the amount of motion in both X and Y directions. Spectra obtained with the onboard calibration lamps in RAPID readout mode will permit determination of the uniformity of the image drift across the diode array and an accurate sensitivity and phase measurement. The latter data will also be used to determine how well the effect can be corrected and if second order effects (hysteresis, local field distortion due to permeable materials in the vicinity of the Digicons, influence of the S/C magnetic torquers) are substantial.
