Photoelectric UBV photometry of P Cyg and seven neighboring stars, obtained from observations performed in August 1979 using a 0.4-m telescope, are used to derive a space reddening of E(B-V) = 0.53 + or - 0.02 for an early-type star in the immediate vicinity of P Cyg. It is suggested that if physical association exists between P Cyg and the star, which may be a member of a previously undetected open cluster containing P Cyg, its absolute magnitude would be M(V) less than or equal to -8.41 + or - 0.25. The presence of the cluster is partially confirmed by star counts which reveal a doubling of the star density within a region of 4 to 5 arcmin in diameter. The unreddened (B-V) and (U-B) colors of P Cyg are demonstrated to be in reasonably good agreement with those predicted for a star of its spectral classification (B2 Oe).
