The radio galaxy Hydra A, is the central dominant galaxy in one of the strongest know cluster cooling flows with a mass accretion rate of 600 Mo/yr. This observation will generate two X-ray spectra (with both a front and back side illuminated ACIS chip) of a cooling flow for science calibration. The Hydra A cluster is also at a low enough redshift (z=0.5) that the central cooling flow region will be resolved with AXAF.
