The conductivity of a lightning stroke at about 24,000°K (near peak temperature) is determined from a previous solution of the Boltzmann equation. A conductivity value of 180 (ohm-cm)-1 is calculated. The assumptions employed in the theoretical analysis are enumerated and possible errors in the conductivity determination are considered. There is good agreement between the calculated value of lightning conductivity and the experimentally determined conductivities of laboratory sparks.
