Mean orbits of the meteor streams are most frequently calculated using
arithmetic averages of heliocentric orbital elements. Resulting values
of orbital parameters do not satisfy laws of celestial mechanics. This
contribution discusses the influence of planetary perturbations on mean
orbit calculated using vector orbital elements.
