The importance of continuing ground based observations is discussed. They are relevant for the MONS mission (and similar missions like COROT, SPEX and MOST) in several ways. We need to know the targets very well, simultaneous observations could be important and the precision of all data -- important for the stellar modeling - must be as high as possible. Selected topics are discussed.
