COROT is a high-precision, wide field stellar photometry experiment from
space, funded in the framework of the CNES ``Petites Missions'' program.
The scientific objectives are stellar seismology and the search for
telluric exoplanets and the spacecraft consists of an off-axis telescope
with a 27 cm aperture that will be placed in a near-earth polar orbit.
