The collapse of globules to form stars is discussed. The physical
influences on the collapse are examined and illustrated for the object
L810. Observational findings for the latter are reviewed which show it
to contain a B7 star with mass 500 times greater than that of the sun
and a luminosity 350 times the solar luminosity.
