The aim of the study was to show that with X = 0.699 and Z = 0.001 through varying the carbon abundance of pop. II stars with a factor of 3, the Rosseland atmospheric opacity does not change very much so that by varying the carbon abundance, the evolution study may be performed without the necessity of computing new opacity tables, as far as the evolution of the external layer is concerned. The atmospheric model program, ATLAS 5, in the SAM 1 version of the University College of London was used. From computing the three stellar atmosphere models with different carbon abundance but the same physical and chemical parameters, it is deduced that the Rosseland opacity is not very sensitive to X sub C.
