H alpha and K line profiles have been determined in all regions of a
quiescent prominence where these emissions are likley to originate in
optically thin layers. From this data, an electron temperature of 5700 K
and a microturbulent velocity of 6.7 km/s were obtained for the outer
parts of the prominence.
