Nova Vul. was discovered October 21, 1976; about 20 spectra were obtained in the range 0.38-1.12 micron between October 31 and November 29. The following elements were identified: H I, O I, N I, C I, S I, Na I, Ca II, Fe II, Mg II, Cr II, Si II, N II, and C II. It is concluded that Nova Vul. is a classical nova, and intermediate between slow and fast novae.
