Photometry is presented for 17 new and six previously discovered variables within the tidal radius of NGC 6569. Twenty new and two previously discovered field variables are also studied. A distance of 7.9±1.5 kpc is derived for the cluster. NGC 6569, a bulge cluster, appears to have an unusually blue horizontal branch for its metallicity; one possible explanation is that it is older than its counterparts in the galactic halo.
