New high-sensitivity observations of the Magellanic Stream have been carried out from the Instituto Argentino de Radioastronomia. The Stream was surveyed between dec. -44 deg and -20 deg. The data are presented in the form of maps of H I column density distribution and velocity distribution. They reveal the extreme complexity of the gas distribution: here, the main Stream is present as a continuous feature of several concentrations (MSI-III, Mathewson's (1974) clouds) linked by low emission gas. The observations also show other components overlapping the main Stream. Several of these seem to be typical high-velocity clouds.
