A model of the electric circuit in the vicinity of a solar flare active region is proposed. It is assumed that the main photospheric and coronal field is produced by sub-photospheric sources. The stationary current distribution induced in this magnetic field by photospheric horizontal flow is derived, taking into account electric connection between remote photospheric regions through the corona. It is shown that vertical currents of the order of 0.01, 0.1 A per sq m can be generated.
