Spectral changes in the Mars Pathfinder calibration targets during the
mission indicate the deposition of atmospheric dust with spectral
features suggestive of hematite and palagonite. Sky brightness and
two-layer Hapke models will help constrain dust mineralogy and
deposition rates.
