We examine the Hawking-Baum-Coleman mechanism in the context of a universe containing a domain wall. We find new instantons with a negative cosmological constant in our model, but the above mechanism still selects zero cosmological constant. Unstable domain walls can produce a complex result, making unclear the interpretation of the euclidean gravitational path integral as a probability distribution.
