Scientific paper

The paper presents a model for rapid magnetic-field reconfiguration in the solar atmosphere as a result of the reconnection of field lines in a high-temperature current sheet with anomalous conductivity. The model explains the penetration of rising magnetic flux into the upper corona and the rapid 'opening' of the closed magnetic field, and makes it possible to describe three different but related phenomena: coronal transients, transient coronal holes, and particle acceleration in the corona.
