TeV blazars provide at present the most challenging tests for the emission models in blazars, in particular SSC and the one-zone scenario, and question the blazar sequence scenario, if intergalactic absorption is strong.
In the past years several new TeV sources have been discovered by the new generation of Cherenkov telescopes, and simultaneous observations with X-ray and optical instruments have been performed. I will present the H.E.S.S. results on BL Lac objects, focusing on multiwavelength observations for
PKS 2005-489, H 2356-309 and 1ES 1101-232. In particular, the H.E.S.S. data on the last two objects, among the most distant
ones detected (z=0.165, 0.186), have shown surprisingly hard spectra. These allowed the derivation of important upper limits on the extragalactic background light, which reduce the uncertainty in the reconstruction of the intrinsic TeV spectra. I will discuss the X-ray and TeV properties in the context of the blazars' SED.
