One of the current open questions in high energy studies of AGN is on the Fe emission line and its apparent lack of variability.
Indeed only in a very few examples has a correlation been found between the highly variable continuum and the line flux.
Here we report the results of an XMM-Newton observation of the low redshift QSO HE1029-1401. During this observation the source has shown variability in the Fe emission line, both in its strength and ionization state.
