We use available data on several low mass X-ray binary systems (LMXBs) with neutron stars which present kilohertz quasi periodic oscillation (kHz QPOs). If the magnetospheric beat frequency model is valid we find that the magnetic field of the compact object in these systems is ``squeezed'' by the ram pressure of the accretion disk's matter is independent of the luminosity of the compact object. If magnetic field decay is operating in these systems we observe that this one stops when the magnetospheric radius reaches the surface of the neutron star.
