We have constructed the detailed numerical models of AM Her. The models assume that the material transferred from a binary companion forms a shock heated accretion column on the magnetic pole of a white dwarf. The structure of the accretion column and the energy spectrum emitted are calculated numerically. White dwarfs with moderately low surface magnetic field, <2 × 107G, are most likely to reproduce the observed features of the spectrum.
