The contribution of space optics systems (especially in the ultraviolet) to astronomical studies is briefly reviewed. Consideration is given to several experiments designed for the photographic study of the sky: the D2B antisolar and zodiacal light experiments, the FOCA-1000 and TMA-1000 balloon experiments, the Faust telescope, and the Spacelab Schmidt telescope.
