The present article raises some criticism against claims that recent extensive air showers present evidence for anisotropy in the distribution of arrival directions. Reanalysis of this data by several different methods tends to indicate that large and small scale anisotropies are not significant enough to be considered as a strong argument in the controversy about galactic versus extragalactic origin.
