Guillaume (1975) has pointed out the importance of Breakwell-Perko's (1965, 1966) matching theory in the analysis of second species solutions of the restricted problem. It appears, however, that the hypotheses on which the theory is based are no longer satisfactory in the case of second species solutions for which the input and output velocities at a passage through the moon are identical. Because of this, the matching theory is reformulated, using new hypotheses concerning the orders of magnitude of the various small parameters appearing in the theory.
