A new subgroup of He-3-rich solar flares is found on reanalyzing the global data. The He-3/P ratio is determined as a function of maximum proton flux in these flares at an energy of about 10MeV and shows a break-up of the data into two groups, one following the anticorrelation, with the proton flux, and the other new group having a constant He-3/H ratio as a function of proton flux. The new group, it is believed, is indicative of the dominant role of nuclear spallation reactions in its origin.
