The generation of large scale magnetic fields in highly conducting plasmas depends on the generation of large scale flows of magnetic helicity via small scale motions. Here we extend previous work on the turbulent generation of magnetic helicity flux to include the effects of large scale shear. We find a new, dominant term driving the magnetic helicity current arising the affect of shear on small scale magnetic field structures. We explore its consequences for stellar and accretion disk dynamo activity.
