In this paper an overview of the main centers of scientific interest for plasma physics in the solar system are presented. The paper is centered successively on the effects of the solar activity on the solar wind, on the structure of the solar wind at the level of the Earth, on the interaction of the solar wind with the earth plasma and magnetic field environment. For the latter the emphasis is put on the interface processes and on the circulation of the plasma from the solar wind to the Earth environment. A section is dedicated to the Space Weather and the impact of large solar events on the low altitude Earth environment and on several aspects of the human activity. Finally the exploration of planets is briefly overviewed.
