We present an exact solution to the problem of a Gaussian beam incident on a two-dimensional array of cylindrical scatterers of arbitrary radius, position and permittivity. To this end, we have derived two series expansions of a 2D complex point-source solution describing a paraxial Gaussian beam in cylindrical coordinates. These expansions are used to compute the scattered field using Mie algorithm. Numerical computations of the field scattered by a typical finite-size photonic crystal illustrate our findings.
