The freezing dynamics of quantum discord under phase damping noise processes is investigated. We derive the necessary and sufficient conditions of the phenomenon for standard Bell-diagonal states through elaborating the time variation of the discord in terms of the function of relative entropy. These conditions are also applicable to the phenomenon occurring in a non-Markovian dephasing process. Moreover, we show that the same phenomena and conditions coincide in a new sort of Bell-diagonal states beyond the standard form.
